Members of the AMERICAN ACADEMY OF OPTOMETRY (AAO) who are optometrists in private practice, optometric educators, optometrists in federal or other government service, and optometrists in multidisciplinary settings. The AAO is the oldest organization serving Doctors of Optometry (the profession of examining the eye for defects and faults, then prescribing correctional lenses or exercises). As part of their dues, members receive a monthly subscription to the journal Optometry and Vision Science and email newsletter, Eye-Mail Monthly.
