Members of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) who are physicians, nurses, technicians and other allied healthcare professionals working in the tissue banking industry. The AATB publishes standards to ensure tissue banking conduct meet acceptable technical and ethical performance norms. It also publishes technical manuals that describe procedures to ensure reasonable and responsible approaches to recovery, processing, preservation and distribution of transplantable tissue such as screening for AIDS and hepatitus and maintenance of asepsis, labeling, storage, donor selection criteria, required testing and record keeping.
