Members of the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) who are medical doctors and allied healthcare professionals who have been trained in the care of spinal paralytic patients. The purposes of the association are to: develop knowledge and investigation of the causes, cure and prevention of spinal injury and related trauma, pursue excellence in spinal injury patient care and provide specialized training for physicians and health professional personnel in the lifeong management of spinal injury including comprehensive rehabilitation.
