Members of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) who are nationally registered or state certified emergency medical technicians and EMT paramedics. It promotes the professional status of EMTs and national acceptance of a uniform standard of recognition for their skills; encourages constant upgrading of these skills and EMT qualifications and educational requirements; engages in scientific research related to the care and transportation of the sick and injured; supports the establishment of emergency medical services systems.
