More than two-thirds of these members teach or conduct research in colleges, universities and schools around the world. Others are in government, the media, communication technology, business law, medicine and other professions. The ICA is dedicated to bringing the results of communication research to bear on problems and issues in society, including public health, the impact of pornography and violence, communication in the family, communication on the Internet, the impact of advertising, etc. Members receive COMMUNICATIONS THEORY, HUMAN COMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH, JOURNAL OF COMMUNICATION and other publications as a benefit of membership.
