Members of National Council of Teachers of English who are English and language arts professionals. They are English department chairs, supervisors, writing and rhetoric specialists, research scholars, teachers of composition courses, and other leaders of English instruction. Members of the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents are primarily teachers, authors, librarians, publishers, an teacher educators particularily interested in the area of young adulthood. Student members of NCTE are mostly college and university students preparing to be K - College English teachers.
