SIM promotes the exchange of scientific information through workshops, meetings and publications, in such areas as fermentation process, bioremediation/biodeteriorations, recombianant DNA technology, secondary metabolism, biotransformation, QA/QC, cosmetic microbiology, the environment and food, among others.
